Watkin Jones - Victoria Dock, Caernarfon, North Wales
A major project at Victoria Dock, the largest brownfield
site in Caernarfon and a World Heritage site. Situated within the proposed
Buffer Zone, the development site is equivalent in size to about one quarter
of the area of the medieval town. The proposed development would fill
open shoreline land immediately north of the dock. It is a full application
for a mixed-use development of leisure facilities of 150,000 sq.ft and
50 luxury apartments.
The buildings will be generally 4 - 5 storeys in height. The residential
element is located on the upper floors and these will have slated roofs.
